Our research

Our research is organised across a set of labs and projects that explore social cohesion, identity, morality, ritual, violence, and collective behaviour. Together, they bring different methods and perspectives to the study of how people bond, cooperate, and sometimes come into conflict.

The Centre is organised into research labs, each focused on a different area of enquiry. Explore our labs to learn more about the questions we study, the methods we use, and the projects we are developing.

The Violent Extremism Lab

The Violent Extremism Lab studies the psychology of self-sacrificial violence, including suicide terrorism and destructive high-risk strategies by leaders, and examines how identity fusion and speech-based risk assessment may help identify warning signs earlier.
